[Shanghai Bureau] Takisada Nagoya and Toray are collaborating to expand the Chinese market for fabrics. Toray’s Chinese subsidiary, Toray International Trade China, specializes in domestic sales within China and has developed original fabrics under the fashion material brand “Evo-Trousers” for Takisada Shanghai. Takisada Shanghai appeals to Chinese apparel companies by emphasizing the high-quality control from Toray’s raw yarn to dyeing and processing, as well as the added value of using a material brand.

This collaboration aligns with Takisada Shanghai’s goal of strengthening differentiated materials in China and Toray’s aim to expand the market for “Evo-Trousers,” which has trademark registrations in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe, the U.S., and Canada.

“Evo-Trousers” has been established for about five years. It leverages differentiation from the raw yarn as a strength, producing and processing fabrics in China with a focus on high quality. Toray handles quality assurance and inventory risk for colors across the entire company. The brand offers 12 product categories based on function and aesthetics, with a strong emphasis on production quality control, honed through dealings with major SPA (Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel).

Takisada Shanghai, which handles sales, prepares function-specific material labels for “Evo-Trousers” and promotes it as a differentiated material unlike any other. The delivery time has been shortened by 2 months compared to Japanese-produced fabrics, now taking only 2 to 4 months. The brand also adapts to QR (Quick Response) systems, reducing inventory risks.

Sales will initially target existing clients of Takisada Shanghai. The company will also explore new opportunities with companies that have various mid-to-high-end brands. Sales outside of China will also be pursued.

At the Takisada Shanghai booth during Intertextile Shanghai, which began on August 27, seven original fabric categories of “Evo-Trousers” were showcased, including thermal insulation, moisture absorption and heat generation, anti-transparency, linen-like, wool-like, silk-like, and water-repellent. For the first time, the booth was constructed for a standalone exhibition, with company representatives from headquarters providing sales support, reflecting the company’s collective effort to promote the brand.

From September onwards, standalone exhibitions will be held in Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Chengdu, and Hangzhou to communicate the material value and develop new clients.
